Brer Fox builds a Tar Baby with tar and wears it with some clothes. When Brer Rabbit appears, he turns kindly to Tar Baby and starts talking to him, but Tar Baby did not answer him. Brer Rabbit is offended, when he wanted to go, Tar Baby started hitting him and in the end Brer Rabbit got stuck. Brer Fox reflected on how to get rid of him. Brer Rabbit begged and said: do what you want with me: hang me, destroy me, drown me, but please do not throw me in that brier patch. In the end Brer Rabbit escaped.
