THE THREE MUSKETEERS by CARLOS JAY ARTAGOITIA

D’Artagnan left his home to go to Paris and his father gave him three different things: 15 coins of gold, a letter for the captain of the musketeers and an ugly horse. When he arrived to a little pub called Jolly Miller, a man with a scar in his head was laughing of his horse. D’Artagnan challenged him to a fight… but the barman didn’t want them to fight and knocked him out. The day after he arrived to Paris, he went to Mr. Treville’s house. He was the captain of the famous musketeers. Mr. Treville told the musketeers to come inside and D’Artagnan saw that one of them had an injury in the arm. Mr. Treville told them that he had heard them fighting against the Cardinal’s guards and they were defeated. They said that they were taken by surprise and that’s why they lost. Then Mr. Treville asked D’Artagnan what he wanted. He said that he wanted to join the musketeers. He said to him that if he wanted to join, he had to prove that he had to be worthy to wear his uniform. Then, from the window he saw the man with the scar that was laughing of his horse. He started to chase him but when he was almost getting him, he fell on Athos. Then, Athos was very angry with him and D’Artagnan said that he challenged him to a fight the next day at nine in the monastery. Then, he had a problem with Aramis, another musketeer, who challenged him at two o’clock in the monastery to a fight as well. Athos and D’Artagnan started to fight and Porthos and Aramis arrived. Then a soldier of the army told them that the duels were forbidden. And the soldiers and the musketeers started to fight. D’Artagnan skipped behind the sword of his enemy to save Athos’ life. D’Artagnan had made three new friends called: Aramis who wanted to be a priest, Porthos who liked beautiful clothes and women and Athos who always seemed sad. The lord visited D’Artagnan and told him that his sister had been kidnapped. The man who had kidnapped the lord’s sister had a scar in his chick. D’Artagnan said that he was working for the cardinal. After four days D’Artagnan found Constance in her brother’s house. Constance left her brother’s house and she met the duke of England. D’Artagnan took them to the palace to see the queen because the duke and the queen were in love. The queen told him to get back to England and gave him 12 diamonds. The cardinal found out about that, and told the King if he could say it to his wife to wear the 12 diamonds. Constance told d’Artagnan to get back to England and recover the diamonds. D’Artagnan went to England and the duke said that he had to give back the diamonds to the queen because the king had asked the queen if she could wear them. The duke said that he had lost 2 of them but he said that he would find a person who could do the same diamonds that he lost. When he had them D’Artagnan got the first ship returning to France and gave the queen the diamonds. The queen said if she could do something to reward him but he wasn’t paying attention because he was looking for Constance. He had fallen in love with her. D’Artagnan received a card from Constance that said if he could go to her summer house. When he went, there wasn’t no one in the house. He asked her neighbours and they said that a man with a scar got her and went running from this place. D’Artagnan went to Milady’s house because she worked for the cardinal too. He got disguised as a duke and went to Milady’s house. D’Artagnan asked her about Constance. When she knew that the duke was D’Artagnan tried to kill him. Athos discovered that the woman who helped to kidnap Constance was the same girl that was his wife. She was a criminal. Athos helped to D’Artagnan to break the door of Milady’s house. The door was opened and Milady was speaking to Constance. Constance drank the glass of wine that Milady gave to her, but when she drank she fell on the ground because Milady had poisoned. Then the three musketeers entered to Milady’s house. D’Artagnan was getting Constance from the floor. Constance said that she loved him and then she died. Then the three musketeers got Milady outside of her house and D’Artagnan said that she had to be punished with the dead. And they executed. The cardinal said sorry to D’Artagnan because he didn’t want to kill Constance and the cardinal gave to D’Artagnan a message that said that he was a musketeer and he will serve his king’s musketeers.
